7 Easy Wardrobe Storage Solutions

Wardrobe storage solutions are essential for keeping your clothing and accessories organised and in good condition. With the proper storage solutions, you can maximise your wardrobe space, make it easier to find what you need and prevent damage to your clothes. Here are some tips for creating well-organised wardrobe storage, stopping you from getting too overwhelmed by our least favourite thing: clutter.

Start with a wardrobe purge:

Before you can arrange your wardrobe, you need to get rid of any items you no longer wear or need. Go through your clothes and accessories and decide which items you want to keep, donate, or sell. This will help you create more space for the items you do use and make it easier to organise your wardrobe.

Use the right hangers:

It sounds small, but the type of hangers you use can make a big difference. Thin velvet hangers are a great choice because they take up less space and prevent clothes from slipping off. You can also use wooden hangers for heavier items like coats and jackets.

Group items by category:

Organising your wardrobe by category can make it easier to find what you need, and keep you from pulling out your clothes and eventually your hair. Group similar items together, such as all your pants in one section and all your shirts in another.

You can also organise by colour or season. This will make navigating your wardrobe systematic and not chaotic.

Utilise vertical space:

Don’t forget to use vertical space in your wardrobe. You can add shelves above your hanging clothes for items like shirts, sweaters or shoes. You can also add hanging organisers for accessories like scarves, belts, and jewellery. This will keep it off the ground and better utilise the space you’ve worked so hard for.

Invest in storage solutions:

Maybe you need to invest in storage items. Shoe racks, hanging organisers, and drawer dividers are just a few examples. Consider investing in these solutions to help maximise your wardrobe space by keeping your items organised.

If you’re running out of space completely, and you don’t want to part with your belongings, you can always keep them safe with us at a local storage site.

Store out-of-season items:

If you have items you only wear during certain seasons, store them away when they’re not in use. This will free up space in your wardrobe and make it easier to find the items you need. You can use storage boxes or bags to keep these items protected. We’ve got plenty of those at our box shop.

A little hot tip is to vacuum seal your items allows you to reduce bulkiness. Then, bring them out of storage when the time is right.

Keep it tidy:

Finally, make sure to keep your wardrobe tidy. Take a few minutes each day to hang up any clothes that are lying around and put items back in their designated spots. This will help you maintain your wardrobe and prevent it from becoming cluttered again.

Simple wardrobe storage solutions are the best kind. Use some of these tips to your advantage, and we’re sure that your home stays liveable and not consumed by clutter. Remember, you can only store so much in your home. If your house is becoming a storage site of its own, we’re never too far at Wilson Storage for some self-storage solutions.
