Your Moving House Checklist

Forward your post

Remember to forward your post to your new address – you don’t want your mail getting lost in the move. Australia Post allows you to do this online or at your local post office. You can currently choose to redirect your mail for anything between 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, depending on your needs.

One of the first things you need to do when moving house is book a removals company. They’ll be able to give you an idea of how much stuff you need to move, and what size van or truck you’ll need. It’s a good idea to get a few quotes from different companies to compare prices.
